Govt mulls visa rule overhaul for expats, tourists, investors (Bangkok Post)
The government could potentially reduce hurdles in the immigration system to make it easier for expats and long-term tourists to stay in Thailand. This would be a beneficial strategy to boost investment and tourism revenue. In addition, foreigners may no longer need to file a 90-day report of their whereabouts. A phone interview with Mr. Chayotid Kradakorn, former head of JPMorgan Securities in Thailand stated "We want to make it easier for foreigners to live and work in Thailand." (Source: Bangkok Post, 2021). Mr. Chayotid is leading a government task force to which aims to attract more investment into Thailand.

Online reporting for foreigners returns (Bangkok Post)
As of Friday April 23, the 90-day reporting system is back online, after being down for several months. The online reporting system will help to avoid overcrowding at immigration offices and help to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
